Last night, I went to Le Privlege to see Merrick and Thomas play. Going out on weeknights is a lighter, friendlier event than going out on weekends. I used to do it a lot when I was a junior and now I miss it. No waiting, no traffic, drink specials... and I'm almost guaranteed to run into someone I like. Before that, we went to Trudy's, which is crowded no matter what day it is. The night before last, Kevin had a car for the day, so we went to Vinny's. Upon learning that he turned 21, I suggested we go to the Dog and Duck Pub . I had never been there before (I think it's a Daily Texan hangout... blehhhh), but it was pretty much what I expected. On Saturday, I had dinner with Mike, Vanderlyn and the other Mike at Gumbo's. They are all wonderful people and my salmon was quite tasty. Then we went to Dave and Buster's and whooped some Skee-Ball ass. I also played a shooting game, where Bill said I was the daintiest shooter he'd ever seen. After that, it was back downtown for last call at the Cloakroom. Yakkity Yak!

Have you ever had a whole bunch of cool and funny stuff happen in a really short time-span and were like, "I could write so much about this!" but then you didn't because too much time passed by and the novelty wore off and you couldn't remember half of it anyway? Well, that's what's up with me.

Let's see... what sticks out most in my mind is May 3rd, which is No Pants Day. I elected to wear pants, but my friend James did not. This made our evening much more interesting. We saw Spiderman (it rocked) and then went to Compulsive Development where he works for Happy Hour. Once about a dozen of us gathered, we headed over to Thai Passion for dinner. James had larb, which isn't very good, and I used the slasher, the Australian slang word for bathroom. Upon returning, I was informed that as a woman, I am unable to slash. But I can still slash... to a lesser degree.

Then James, Mark, Russell, and I went to a bunch of college parties in West Campus. I was the only one actually in college, but everyone was so astounded by James's lack of pants that no one paid attention to the fact that all of us looked too old to be there. Around 3 or 4, we got tired of going to crusty houses with kegs of even crustier beer, so went to Kerbey Lane and chowed down.

On Saturday, I went to the Frat House in Killeen with Richard. While he thrashed techno in the side room, I sat outside and talked with Jenny and Aaron, met Joe, got hit on by less-than-worthy men, and took pride in the fact that I was most likely the hottest girl in the whole club (or at least a top three contender). There's not much else I can say, other than Killeen sucks and I'm really glad I don't live there.

MORE RECENTLY: On Friday night, I went to Ped's Lemongrass with Joe. The food was good, but... more on that later. We went to the Alamo Drafthouse afterward and saw Mr. Sinus Theatre present Crossroads, the Britney Spears movie. I can't remember the last time I laughed harder at a film. We also made short appearances at Malaga and the Chugging Monkey (6th Street's newest meat market). Then I began to feel sick, so Joe took me home and I went to bed.

Luckily, Richard stumbled in after hours and took care of me while I threw up 7 times (!) Okay, I know what you're thinking and my answer is this: A headache in the morning = hangover. However, vomiting 7 times = food poisoning. I love sushi, so we ate some at Ped's and I firmly believe that is what lead to my undoing. I'm really glad Richard came by and took care of me in my time of illness.

I had a final to take in the morning, which was not awesome, but I think I did rather well on it, considering the circumstances. I told the prof about it and he said not to worry in such a way that I know I have a solid A in that class. Kyle Barnett, I salute you!

That night, I was feeling well enough to attend a function at the Renaissance Hotel for Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic with Mike. There, I met many nice people and ate mashed potatoes out of a martini glass. We also won tickets to the Four Seasons Cafe and a Zachary Scott Theatre production of our choosing. Then, we saw The Recliners at Momo's, thanks to Russell from the week before, who plays the keyboard and trumpet for the band. The show was awesome; it whooped a camel's ass. (They covered The Davinyls' I Touch Myself - Hilarious!) And it was back to Kerbey Lane for us to fill the void the martini mashed potatoes could not.
